About the author:
Clem Blakely-Frick is a journalist. She earned a Master’s Degree in African Studies at St. Antony’s College, Oxford University. Her first job after graduation was as a Head Speechwriter for the Revolutionary Youth Movement of America.
Her words have appeared in The Internationalist, Militant Worker, and Revolutionary Worker, among many others. She is currently editor-at-large at African Communist.
Clem lives in Brooklyn with her partners, and a cat named Maude.
